Short presentation:

WATERVILL brings together a transnational consortium of 12 partners from nine countries working to strengthen the resilience of Mediterranean rural and mountain areas to water scarcity by developing, testing and transferring innovative, climate-proof water management solutions.

Long description:

WATERVILL is an Interreg Euro-MED-funded project tackling water scarcity in rural and mountainous regions of the Mediterranean. With 12 partners across nine countries (Montenegro as Lead Partner, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Spain), WATERVILL brings together municipalities, universities, associations of local governments and water associations to address water scarcity.

Rural and mountainous Mediterranean areas often rely on outdated, fragmented and climate-vulnerable local water supply systems. As climate pressures intensify and infrastructure deteriorates, communities face frequent water shortages, poor water quality and unreliable services.

WATERVILL modernises this water infrastructure by combining technology, nature and community know-how, helping to reduce water losses, improve water distribution and increase climate resilience for thousands of citizens.
